300EX Corner: New Bars and Stabilizer...Factory Fit and Finish Wow what a feeling...

You know the deal...your 300EX has been upside down a couple times...your bars have been bent too many times to mention...your friends talk about the "Utility ATV" plastic across your handle bars...your grips are worn out...need I say more???
Just returned from a good ride today in Waldorf, MD.  And good for several reasons...good because I haven't been on my ATV in weeks due to school, weather, a friends Banshee won't start in winter, and too many other excuses to mention -- I'm just glad to of gotten out.  Secondly because I just installed new Renthal bars and a PEP steering stabilizer on my '98 Honda 300EX...and the difference was down right incredible.  What makes it even better is a hot tip from my friend Donnie down at Don's ATV Service about using handle-bar plastic off of a '87 Honda 250X which will allow you to pop in your stock key/ignition and maintain your stock head light assembly.  I had heard from many folks who won't even ride (especially aggressively) without a steering stabilizer.  Now I finally know what they've been talking about.  The next best thing about this upgrade is that it looks much better than the stock plastic setup on '93-2000 300EX's.  In additional to ordering a set of Renthal Fourtrax bend bars and a PEP Steering Stabilzer from Moto-Man (which I received in 2 days - wow!) I went down to the local Honda dealer and ordered the '87 250X handle bar plastic and the plastic headlight cover and metal headlight holder for a '98 300EX (they both had been hammered by roll-overs).  Spent a few hours throwing everything on...then adjusting again...and then finally it was time for a road test.  Got to love it!!!  I figured this was good information for other 300EX owners...

It all comes apart and will go back together...just take your time.

A perfect fit for the key!  You utilize all of your old hardware off the old plastic...thanks again to Don's ATV Service for the great tip!!

You got to love Honda...everything fits...the key...the old head-light assembly...beautiful!

Don't forget the Steering Dampener - Stabilizer.  Everyone I knew that had one claimed they were the best thing since sliced bread...they are...call up or hit the web and order one today...any serious ATV'er wouldn't ride without one.

Look how clean this looks!  It is very functional as well...thanks again to Don's ATV Service for the great tip!!
